Pumpkin Patch Bristol
With Halloween just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to start thinking about pumpkins! That spooky season we all love is back, and there’s no better way to get into the festive mood than by visiting one of Bristol’s local pumpkin patches and picking out the perfect pumpkin.
I never really paid much attention to Halloween or pumpkin carving until I had my daughter, but now it’s become a cherished family tradition. Every year, it all begins with a fun-filled afternoon spent at one of Bristol’s fantastic pumpkin patches. So, I’ve rounded up the best spots in and around the city to help you find your perfect pumpkin and make some great memories!
1. Avon Valley Pumpkin Patch
My favourite place to go is Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park near Keynsham, pumpkin season is a celebration like no other! Starting on the 28th of September, their pumpkin patch becomes the heart of autumn, offering much more than just a chance to pick your perfect pumpkin.
Families can dive into seasonal fun with activities like pumpkin paintball, apple cannons, and a spooky night-time experience complete with live music and an impressive fire show. With delicious food stalls and plenty of photo opportunities, it’s an ideal spot to enjoy the autumn vibes
2. Picking Patch
A new pumpkin patch has arrived on Bath road with a completely different approach with their free entry visitors can explore the fields and choose from over 20 different types of pumpkins, paying only for what they pick.
Open on select days in October (5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, and 25-31, from 9:30 am to 5 pm), it offers more than just pumpkins. Guests can immerse themselves in a Halloween-themed Murder Mystery Maze, try their hand at a culinary Escape Room, and enjoy the enchanting Twilight evenings on October 12th, 19th, and 26th.
3. Farrington’s Pumpkin Festival
Farrington’s Pumpkin Picking Festival is back from the 5th of October 2024, Spanning 12 acres, the patch boasts an impressive 100,000 pumpkins in a variety of sizes and colours, from classic orange to ghostly white.
Open on select dates in October, the festival isn’t just about picking pumpkins, it’s a full seasonal celebration! Visitors can enjoy pumpkin carving stations, toast marshmallows over an open fire, and even play in the ever-popular Straw Pool. With a pop-up funfair, tasty treats, and cozy autumnal vibes, Farrington’s Pumpkin Picking Festival promises a fun-filled day out for the whole family!
4. Noah’s Ark Pumpkinfest
Noah’s Ark PumpkinFest open throughout October to early November, the park transforms into a festive wonderland where you can pick your own pumpkin from their giant patch and get stuck into Halloween-themed activities.
There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained, from pumpkin carving to tractor rides, all while exploring the animal park and meeting the resident farm animals.
